This digital exhibition, with a physical counterpart from November 13 to 17 at 'O Vello Cárcere' de Lugo—the second Spanish prison built following Bentham's panoptic design—explores the enduring influence of the Panopticon through the works of 12 digital artists. It examines the moment where our internalized fears become the most significant barriers to freedom.
The architecture of the Panopticon, initially intended to promote self-surveillance and self-correction, has found its modern counterparts in our smartphones, internet habits, and digital interactions.
